          Batteries over time will corrode at the terminals with calcium. To prevent this dielectric grease is put on the terminals to slow the corrosion. In some cases the corrosion will cause excess resistance or even produce an open in the system. A simple wire brush is the best to use for cleaning the battery posts. Another way to clean them is to poor coke on the terminals to remove corrosion.
